Is It The End of LNP or the Dawn of a New NPAC Day?

If the warnings swirling around what could happen if the FCC chooses a new Local Number Portability Administrator (LNPA) are to be believed, the industry could be facing severe delays in number porting, excessive new training requirements, additional costs of more than $700 million and even the demise of porting itself. If the FCC decides on a new vendor, it will affect how rural carriers port numbers in the Number Portability Administration Center (NPAC) in the future. Therefore it is imperative that companies remain current on possible transition timelines and procedures, especially those that manage their own porting in the NPAC via online credentials or the help desk.
