FCC Extends Several E-Rate Program Deadlines

Early this month, the FCC extended and waived several E-rate filing and service implementation deadlines due to the COVID-19 crisis. With many schools and libraries across the country forced  to close, the FCC and USAC hope the extra time will allow E-rate participants to focus on implementing remote working and learning programs during this public health emergency.

The following deadlines have changed:

Service delivery deadline for non-recurring services and special construction September 30, 2020  September 30, 2021
Special construction service delivery deadline for all FY2019 applicants (and any FY2018 applicants that received a one-year extension) June 30, 2020 June 30, 2021
Appeal and waiver seekers will receive an additional 60 days to file. March 11 -September 30, 2020 May 10 – November 29, 2020
Invoice Filing deadline is extended for 120 days (USAC will provide an additional 30-day extension, but requests must include an explanation and documentation for the request). March 11 – October 28, 2020 July 9, 2020 – February 25, 2021
FCC Form 486 extended an additional 120 days. This includes FCC Forms 486 from FY2019 and previous funding years. March 11 – September 30, 2020 July 9, 2020 – January 28, 2021
All program participants given 30-day extensions to respond to USAC information requests related to pending USAC appeals; invoices; pending FCC Form 500 requests; audits; and Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) requests. Requests issued between March 11 – May 22, 2020 30-day extension
