To support its strategic expansion, JSI is now seeking on behalf of its N-Com division, several talented and experienced Design Technicians for positions for Lubbock, Texas.



In general, an Design Technician will perform Fiber-to-the-Premise outside plant design tasks relating to telecommunications infrastructure projects. It should be noted that an Design Technician’s candidate with prior experience is preferred, but not required. In particular, an Design Technician’s essential functions will include, among other things:

  • Preparing pole loading analysis;

  • Construction permits;

  • High-level and detailed fiber network designs;

  • Staking Maps; and

  • As-built maps.



  • Detailed experience with AutoCAD 3D and associated GIS toolsets that are utilized in the mapping of telecommunications outside plant networks.

  • Experience with ESRI ArcGIS and shapefile creation/manipulation.

  • Experience with preparing CAD documentation for telecommunication service providers is preferred.

  • High school diploma required. An associates’ degree or bachelors’ degree is preferred.

  • Requires good oral and written communications skills

  • Desire and ability to work on technical projects, utilizing software, advanced mathematics, and other technical computer skills.

  • Ability to work as part of a team.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or a Permanent Resident status.
