Senior Network Specialist Engineer/Engineer NOC – Lubbock, TX

To support its strategic expansion, JSI is now seeking on behalf of its N-Com division, a talented and experienced Senior Network Specialist / Engineer NOC for positions in Lubbock, Texas, qualified individuals to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Proactive monitoring of customer network infrastructure

  • Serve as an escalation point for issues

  • Creating and working trouble tickets for network and server issues

  • Documenting and diagraming networks, relevant processes and troubleshooting steps

  • Perform routine maintenance and software upgrades on customer network equipment

  • Communicating technical concepts in clear and understandable manner

  • Create knowledgebase solutions for common issues

  • Mentor less experienced NOC team members

  • Coordinate NOC tasks such as upgrades and maintenance activities

  • Operate in flexible shifts

  • Operate in an on-call rotation

  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience in a previous Network, NOC or support role

  • Proficiency with FTTP GPON/XGS-PON/NG-PON2 and Active Ethernet technologies

  • Understanding of networking concepts and IP networks

  • Understanding of Carrier Ethernet and MEF concepts

  • Hands-on experience with access equipment from vendors such as: Adtran, Calix, Nokia, DZS and related element management systems

  • Experience with DSLAMs and multi-service access platforms is a plus

  • Network certifications are considered a plus

  • Proficiency with standard operations of Windows-based computers and Office product suite

  • Good oral and written communication

  • Ability to work as part of a team

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Attention to details and good judgment

  • Desire to learn and apply what you learn immediately

  • Requires 3-5 years’ experience of operating, troubleshooting and/or designing Service Provider Networks

  • Relevant degree (CIS, MIS, Engineering, etc.) preferred but not required

  • Fill time, non-supervisory.

  • Occasional travel required.

  • On-call duties may be required.

  • This position requires US Citizenship or a Permanent Resident status.
