An in-depth look at one of the FCC’s plans for future USF

The Alternative Connect America Model’s (A-CAM) development has been complex and shrouded in secrecy, but it is vital for rural LECs to bring themselves up to speed on the model as soon as they can. We expect the FCC to release an order in the coming months which will finalize the model’s details and start the clock for companies to make a choice whether or not to elect the A-CAM for future USF.

To help clients learn more about A-CAM and prepare themselves for this election, we presented a webinar, “Understanding the A-CAM,” which included:

  • An overview of the model plus a summary of the current state of development;
  • A review of the model’s support module outputs, including locations that could be disqualified based on competition and/or cost benchmarks;
  • A review of the cost module, including Capex cost drivers and Opex carrying charge factors; and
  • An introduction to JSI’s new company-specific analysis of how clients might fare under the A-CAM.

A recording of the session is available for $249. If you would like to purchase a copy of the recording, along with the webinar slides and materials, please contact Brenda Cordwell at 301-459-7590.

For more information about the webinar content or the A-CAM, contact Brian Sullivan in JSI’s Maryland office at 301-459-7590.

Have you signed an NDA?

Cost Quest requires that all companies must sign a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) before JSI can discuss the A-CAM with them. Because of this requirement, all companies must have a signed NDA on file with the FCC in order to view this webinar. If you are unsure if your company has signed an NDA for the A-CAM, please contact Kim Waldvogel at 301-459-7590.
