Reminder: 911 Reliability Certifications Due by Oct. 15

JSI reminds clients of the approaching October 15, 2015, deadline for covered 911 service providers to file in the FCC 911 Reliability Certification System (see JSI’s August 12 e-Lert).

A covered 911 service provider includes all carriers that provide 911, E911 or NG911 capabilities, such as call routing, automatic location information, automatic number identification, or the functional equivalent of those capabilities, directly to a public safety answering point (PSAP), statewide default answering point, or appropriate local emergency authority and/or operate one or more central offices that directly serve a PSAP. If you have a PSAP in your territory, this new annual certification requirement applies to you.

For assistance with filing the 2015 certification or with compliance with the 911 reliability rules, please contact Valerie Wimer in JSI’s Maryland office at 301-459-7590.
