The FCC recently launched two new online sites to collect information from video/cable TV providers. Both of these sites will require action on the part of all providers. Companies need to gather their public file information and upload it into the FCC’s new Online Public Inspection File (OPIF) system. And providers need to prepare for upcoming tests of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) by familiarizing themselves with the new EAS Test Reporting System (ETRS).
JSI recently hosted a webinar for all video/cable TV providers to walk through both of the new systems and the new requirements. We covered the rules for the national EAS tests and how to report your company’s test results in the new ETRS. Our experts also went into detail on what should be in your company’s public file and on your website, how to manage the public file in the future, and what other records your company should be keeping.
