The FCC plans to hold a reverse auction this fall for its latest funding mechanism, the Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF), which will dole out $20.4 billion for rural broadband infrastructure. RDOF’s Phase I reverse auction rules will be very similar to the 2018 Connect America Fund (CAF) Phase II auction, but many more rural communities will be eligible for the RDOF money.
Our recent webinar covered what to expect from the RDOF auction and how to prepare, including information on:
- The new fund’s goals;
- The tentative timeline;
- How to determine eligible areas;
- An overview of the reverse auction process and the requirements to participate; and
- What to expect if you win.
JSI guided several CAF Phase II winners through the lengthy process from the auction’s start through to funding authorization. We also shared our reverse auction keys to success and best practices to help your company better compete for a share of the available funds.
A recording of the webinar is available for $249. Contact Brenda Cordwell in the Maryland office at 301-459-7590 if you’d like to purchase the recording of this webinar. If you have questions about the RDOF auction, contact Cassandra Heyne or John Kuykendall.
