FCC Opens Filing Window for Revised A-CAM I and A-CAM II Location Adjustments
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC or Commission) Wireline Competition Bureau (Bureau) has opened a filing window for Revised A-CAM I and A-CAM II carriers to request downward adjustments to their required location counts and associated support based on the June 2026 Broadband Serviceable Location Fabric (Fabric). Certifications must be filed by November 30, 2026. This is the only opportunity these carriers will have to align their obligations with the Fabric, so affected companies should evaluate their position now.
Carriers should compare the Fabric unit count for their service area, which the FCC has listed by study area in the attachments to its Public Notice, against the number of units they are currently required to serve. A-CAM II carriers with Tribal obligations should review those locations separately. Where the Fabric shows fewer units than a carrier’s obligation, filing is the only way to bring you obligation in line, and the Bureau will not entertain an adjustment after the window closes. Carriers that have reported, or will report, enough eligible units in the High-Cost Universal Broadband (HUBB) portal to meet their existing obligations do not need to file.
A reduced location obligation also means reduced support, and where a revised support level falls below what a carrier has left to receive, USAC will recover the difference.
