Carrier Identification Code Reports Due March 31

Carrier Identification Code Reports Due March 31

Failure to submit the required annual reports in the new format and database may result in CIC reclamation.

The Annual Carrier Identification Code (CIC) Report, currently covering the period of January 1 through December 31, 2024, is due by March 31, 2025. This report is the sole tool used by NANPA to confirm if a CIC is being used in accordance with the CIC Assignment Guidelines or to determine if a CIC is subject to reclamation by NANPA.

The CIC reports are no longer accepted via email to the North American Numbering Plan Administration (NANPA) CIC Administrator. The reports must be submitted in the NANP Administration System (NAS).

Service Providers are required to have an active NAS account with the Subscription Choice of Other Resources and the reporting IAC Code(s) (aka ACNA) in their user profile prior to submitting the Annual CIC Report.

CIC Reminders:

  • Reporting must be updated to the new required format.
  • Reporting is only accepted via upload to the NAS.
  • NANPA may initiate CIC reclamation if the required report is not submitted.
  • CIC reports must be accurate before submission as information provided is considered certified.
  • CICs must be used in the manner they were requested and assigned within the CIC guidelines.
  • Verify your company’s CIC contact on file with NANPA is current and accurate. If not, updates should be submitted to NANPA.
