FCC Delays Lifeline Representative Accountability Database to May 25
The FCC has extended the deadline for eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) providing Lifeline to register and validate their representatives in the mandatory Lifeline Representative Accountability (RAD) until May 25, 2020. Originally, the RAD deadline was March 26 (see JSI’s Jan. 22 e-Lert). However, in response to the coronavirus pandemic, the FCC announced some temporary changes to the Lifeline program, including this extension of the RAD deadline.
The FCC urged ETCs to encourage their representatives to continue to register for a Representative ID and link that ID to the appropriate National Lifeline Accountability Database (NLAD) accounts. Any ETC representatives who are involved in Lifeline transactions must have a RAD ID linked to NLAD and the National Verifier to perform Lifeline subscriber transactions, such as eligibility checks and enrollments. Representatives can register on USAC’s website at https://www.usac.org/lifeline/additional-requirements/rad/ for a RAD ID.
The FCC also put all new Lifeline reverification and recertification activity on hold for 60 days. Lifeline recertification is on hold for the dates between April 14, 2020 and August 14, 2020 while all new reverification activity is on hold for 60 days beginning March 17 through May 18, 2020.
