FCC Prepares for Several Upcoming Filing Deadlines

August 14, 2019

There are several FCC filing deadlines that JSI clients should be preparing for in the coming weeks. The FCC has opened its filing systems or set a filing window for all three of these deadlines.

FCC Form 477
The FCC Office of Economics and Analytics has notified Form 477 filers that the filing system is now accepting reports for voice and broadband data as of June 30, 2019. All Form 477 is due Tuesday, September 3.

Wireless Hearing Aid Compatibility Certifications
The FCC Wireless Bureau provided details on its new FCC Form 855 and the filing system that will be available during the September 3 to October 3 filing window to submit certifications of wireless HAC compliance for calendar year 2018.

As explained in our recent e-Lert, the Form 855 is an annual Wireless HAC Certification that has replaced the Form 655 annual reporting.

911 Reliability Certifications
The FCC has announced that the FCC 911 Reliability Certification System is now open for the certifications due by October 15. If you have a Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) in your territory, this certification applies to you.
